The Shippagan Aquarium and Marine Center is Atlantic Canada's largest public aquarium. Here you can discover an unsuspected number and variety of fish and invertebrate species, like our collection of sensational blue lobsters native to the Gulf of St. Lawrence and the Maritime's lake and rivers. We offer you a fascinating peek of these marine species that live in our tanks in which the natural habitat has been recreated to perfection and where the water is crystal clear.

The bounty of the sea is feted for nine days in July and you are invited to help Shippagan do it right! There are activities for everyone: the Blessing of the Fleet, deep-sea fishing excursions, dancing, sporting events, theatre, live entertainment and more

Head to Shippagan for the absolutely magical Festival de lumières de Noël each December. The only festival of its kind in Canada, more than 10,000 people travel from all over the world to the Acadian Peninsula to see the myriad sparkling Christmas lights, concerts and the amazing Santa Claus Village of miniature houses.

The Route 11 municipalities are getting together to organize a host of outdoor and other activities for everyone. Paraskiing, kite flying, snow sculpture contest (by teams and residential), ATV rally, observation rally, costume ball, smelt fishing (on the ice), horse-drawn sleigh rides, igloo building, and many other activities.
