New Brunswick, the largest of Canada's three Maritime Provinces, is nestled under Quebec's Gaspé Peninsula and beside the State of Maine. Its northern border also includes the Restigouche River and the Baie des Chaleurs.

The eastern boundary is entirely coastal - the Gulf of St Lawrence and Northumberland Strait - and delightfully dotted with warm, sandy beaches...the warmest salt water north of Virginia.
Chignecto Bay and the 24-kilometre (15-mile) wide Isthmus of Chignecto, which connects New Brunswick to Nova Scotia, form part of New Brunswick's southern border.

The rest of it is the Bay of Fundy. Its tides - the highest and wildest in the world - have carved a spectacular coastline. New Brunswick is also connected to Prince Edward Island by the world-famous Confederation Bridge.

Let us show you how to experience the best of New Brunswick, and plan your New Brunswick vacation. What's unique to see and do, where to travel and where to stay?

Cities and Hometowns
Travel back in time at historical settlements and then experience the hospitality of modern-day Cities and Hometowns offering unique shopping, colorful character, culture and architectural charm.

Bathurst - The City of Bathurst boasts sandy beaches and two challenging golf courses. Visit Youghall Beach Park, book fishing or kayaking tours, or visit Daley Point Reserve and learn about our saltwater habitat and enjoy the festivities of Hospitality Days.

Campbellton - Campbelton is unique because of the community’s cultural diversity and the festivals that bring together friends and families from everywhere. The Restigouche River is famous for fishing, canoeing and kayaking.

Fredericton - This is the Capital of New Brunswick, a historic and cultural centre with Victorian architecture, museums, art galleries, and live entertainment. Take in over 20 attractions in a four-city block.

Moncton - This city is close to many of the province’s attractions, including the Tidal Bore and Magnetic Hill, and central to two contrasting coasts. It is Canada’s first officially bilingual city.

Things to Do
From the Bay of Fundy to an Appalachian mountaintop, it's an experience you'll never forget. You can walk on the ocean floor and a few hours later; kayak the world's highest tides in the exact same spot. Our dunes and discovery beaches invite you to explore nature's greatest phenomena. Or you can tour the Maritimes' most spectacular rivers by boat, by ferry, or hike, bike or drive beside waterside scenery that will take your breath away. Don't miss our covered bridges.

Three unique coastlines offer countless ways to explore… enjoy succulent seafood… or bask on a beach… you will find more kinds of whales more often than anywhere else… world-famous birding hot spots… and miles of coastline to experience one lighthouse at a time. A treasury of enchanted coastal islands will take you to New Brunswick's timeless drama by the sea.
Our special blend of Aboriginal, Acadian, Brayonne, Loyalist, Irish, and Scottish cultures have created an extraordinary mosiac to enjoy and experience.

Scenic Drives
River Valley, Fundy Coastal, Acadian Coastal, Miramichi River, and Appalachian Range - are a smorgasbord of tantalizingly beautiful scenery, urban and rural experiences galore.

Miramichi - Stop here where the mighty Miramichi River meets the salt waters of the Northumberland Strait. Be sure to ask about the vivid local legends and folklore that have passed down through generations.

Cap Pele - At first glance, Cap-Pelé paints a seaside postcard of a colorful Acadian village... with tall sea grass swaying gently across long sandy beaches…a collection of brightly painted fishing boats bobbing alongside the wooden wharves…and children splashing in the some of the warmest salt water north of Virginia.
